Dr Andreas Adam, Professor of Interventional Radiology at the University of London, on 14 January kicked off a series of scientific guest lectures for 2016 with a presentation titled ‘Interventional oncology: The fourth pillar of cancer care’.  The event was well attended by students, staff and faculty as well as by oncologists and members of cancer societies. Prof Adam’s research work has shaped clinical practice internationally and has been recognised by the award of Fellowship of the Academy of Medical Sciences.He has made extensive original contributions to the medical and scientific literature, has published eleven books, and has served as Editor-in-Chief of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology.
